A dad and his little boy.

It is so difficult to take a photo of these family bike rides. I was a few seconds too late to really catch the little boy nicely on this motosikal. You can just see him under his dad's arm. The little boys usually sit between dad and the steering wheel, like they are learning how to drive!

Eating at Restoran Tepi Pantai in Johor Bahru.

We went to a very nice place for dinner near Permas Jaya, Restoran Tepi Pantai. .
This harbour is so much closer from here. The “Seven Borealis” crane is clearly visible from here. This website describes it: http://www.shipbuilding-industry.eu/shipbuilding_v2/?p=4948
Straits View Condiminiums in the background.

You choose your live seafood from the following tanks.

Not to be eaten. Now I have heard parrots speak Chinese! Imagine! They are much smarter than me.
Looks like the restoran's own fishfarm to the back of the restoran.

Yummy food! The fins of the fish are standing upright - a sign that the fish was killed just before cooking.
 Mean looking teeth!
 The eggs of the crab.
Colleagues - American, Malay, Malay, South African.

Singapore in June

I love Singapore. The buildings are amazing and there is such a variety of styles and shapes and sizes.

Old people are not forgotton. I found this sign on a toilet in one of the malls.
A handle bar next to this toilet to make it easier for getting up.
Don't do jaywalking. You'll get fined. Also: don't eat chewing gum or even get caught with it on you, you'll get fined!!
Arab street is the place for material and more material to the point where one would not be able to choose.
A beadshop! I have yet to find a shop like this is Johor Bahru. This shop also had all the doo-dahs for making jewellery as well as a variety of wire in various thicknesses.
A dummy bird to keep birds off this buiolding.
Chinatown - Indian temple in Chinatown.
One of the clothing stalls in Chinatown.
At a restoran in Chinatown. Real, live crabs to choose for your meal.

Malaysian Fried Ice Cream

Ever had fried ice cream? Very nice!

I don't think he believes what he is eating!

My experiments with cooking with ikan/fish.

I bought a fish for supper again. I have no idea what it is called. It had lots of bones and was not very nice. In fact, at supper time I was asked: Is this mudfish? At that moment I had some of the fish in my mouth and my immediate thought was - It tastes like what I think mudfish could taste like - like mud! I decided I needed a book on how to cook fish. So I got myself Masakan Ikan Laut. I keep forgetting to check the language and so I'll have to do this google-translate thing again for the recipe I want to try out. At least I know without thinking that Ikan Laut means Sea Fish.

This time I understood when the guy in Jusco asked me if he could clean the fish. Just as well as I would have totally forgot again to clean it and he did such a good job with the right tools.

Chakra in Johor Bahru

We went to Chakra and had a most enjoyable evening and the best food ever. The naan bread - sedapnya!!!
I noticed all these Indian glass bangles as decoration on the ceiling. Fascinating.
We were a group of people sitting at 2 tables in a room all by ourselves. Really nice. Felt very special and private.
A decoration on the one wall.
The open air kitchen. Makes sense as Malaysia is very hot.
 A sign above the toilet/tandas.
Here is a Western toilet for a change!
I'm not so intimidated by the Eastern toilets anymore, but this Western one phased me with this button affair!!
This is what you can do with the various buttons! No need for toiletpaper! Stop, Rear cleaning, Front cleaning and Air dryer. This totally phased me! I have never seen the likes before! Imagine - a toilet intimidating me! I had to laugh at myself.
