Sweet and sour powder to have with fruit.

I went to dinner with friends some time ago and for desert we were given cut fruit pieces - water melon, pineapple and mango. There were also little bowls with this brown coarse powder. I was told to take a piece of fruit and dip it in the powder and then eat it. It is a sweet and sour powder. I could not get a name for it. When I went to Kipmart today, I noticed that some of the peeled and cut fruit had a little sachet with brownish powder. I immediately recognized it and looked around the stall to see if they would be selling packet with the powder. They did. It is just called Sweet & Sour. The Malay name is Serbuk Asam which translates to acid powder. The Chinese translation to English is acid plum powder - 酸  粉. This is a very unexpectant pleasant combination - this sweet and sour powder with fresh fruit.
The ingredients are in Malay: buah kering, gula, garam, likuoris, perisa dan pewarna yang diluluskan. In English it is - dried fruit, sugar, salt, liquorice, flavoring, approved coloring.
